2nd mockboard

Well it seems like I have had the worst luck in the world with trying to get a board patient that actually shows up. Well I tried to call my patient that I had for mockboards on friday and every number I called just said this number does not accept incoming calls. Ah! that is the dumbest feature to put on your phone. What if your kid got hurt and ended up in the hospital? That feature is so lame. I went to talk to Rita at midtown and see if she had a home phone or something so I could get ahold of her. Anyways I could not get a good phone number on her. Luckily Karina had a patient that she said I could have. He didn't really work for mockboards but it is better than having no one. They had screened him on friday and so with the checks they had marked for him is what I submitted. Turns out those checks were way off and I over submitted. I had to take 1/2 of a full mouth and so I barely made check out. I was to submit him at 1 and I submitted him at 12:58. That was a close call. Then I had to numb him and I could not figure out the IA, I was so frustrated I ended up having the instructor do it. Then I turned him in to see what I had missed. When I got him back turns out that I missed 7 spots! I was so disappointed!:( I tried really hard to get it all off. He had never had his teeth cleaned in his whole entire life so his calculus was so tenacious and instead of having a click it was a whole ring around the tooth. If you were to look in the mouth it looks really healthy but once you go subgingival it is not. Luckily of the 7 spots I missed only 3 counted against me but that didn't take away the fact that I was so disappointed. I just wish for once I would have a patient that I schedule and pay for their xrays show up. Maybe next mockboards I get someone.

Pano nightmare

Today clinic went ok I am so grateful I had easy patients. I hurt my back somehow and now the muscle is so sore that I can barely move without it really hurting. Anyways I got through the day. I had the worst time taking a pano. We recently got daylight loaders and nobody bother to inform me that you are absolutely not suppose to have any light, not even the screen that is there to open so you can see can be open. I kept developing my pano's and all of them would come out dark. I couldn't understand why they were coming out that way? I was getting really frustrated. We finally figured out the problem and now we have a sign that says to have everything dark when you put in pano film. Well that was it for today.

Today clinic was good. I had both my patients show up. I am just getting a little frustrated because I cannot seem to find any class 3 this semester. This is the last semester and I really need to find them. I was able to finish my patient this morning but I didn't even get to do any cleaning on my afternoon patient since he had to leave early. Well that was it for today.

Back to Clinic

Today was my first day back to clinic since the Christmas break. I am so glad to have gotten today over and done with. Well today was the start of my very last semester. I had a class 5 this morning and a class 2 this afternoon. I finished 3 quads of my class 2 and I was so close to finishing her up but I ran out of time. Someday I will be able to finish a class 2 in one appointment. Well that was it for today.:)
