My first official injection on a patient.

This morning I thought my patient was not going to show up so I called another and she was on her way when my patient showed up. I started the OD on her and it was really hard to see anything she bled a ton. Then I was ready to start her cleaning and she needed to be numb so I gave her the injections. She was my very first official patient I gave it too. I gave her and IA an infiltration and a mental. I didn't do that good of a job but for it being the first time on an official patient I guess it was not that bad. Then in the afternoon I had to little girls. That was a breeze. Today overall was a really good day.

Mockboard Day

Well today was a mockboard day and it did not start out very well. Last night I called my patient and she decided that she did not want to come so she cancelled on me. I was so mad! So I told my dad that he would have to come be my patient even though he would not qualify. Well my dad came and luckily he had 10 clicks in 2 quads that they let him qualify for the board. Normally 10 clicks is not acceptable but since it mockboard and our first one they let it slide by. When I was cleaning my dad I thought he was way to easy and I kepted feeling and scaling and things would not come off and then I would get all confused with his fillings that I ended up missing 5 spots out of the 10 I had. So I didn't do so good but I guess its ok for the first one. All I can say is that this was much easier than surgery and chemo.

Today clinic was good i had a class 3. Her jaw kepted locking so i had to stop really often but other than that it was a good day.

Today I thought was a pretty relaxing day here in clinic. I had a class 2/3 but her calculus was not a tenacious as my previous class 3 that it felt really easy. Then in the afternoon I had a class 5 and that was a piece of cake. After having hard patients constantly it feels like I didn't do much. I really enjoyed today. To bad we can't have more relaxing days like this.

Today clinic was good. I was a little nervous that my morning patient was not going to come since she was 45 minutes late. She ended up coming and she was a class 3. I like class 3 but they are a lot of work. My afternoon patient is a class 3 also and I only worked on one quad but it took me like and hour and 20 minutes there were like only 4 spots that i missed which was not to bad but she was really hard to clean. I like that I keep getting hard patients so I can get experience but they are so hard. You wouldn't think calculus could get so hard but it does. Well that was it for today.

Today clinic wase great! I hadd a class 2/3 in the morning and a class 3 in the afternoon. Dr Hanson really helped me out with the ultrasonic and hand instrumentation. It was really cool to see how easy the instruments adapt when you have the right angle on it. Well that was about it for today.

Second Time in Clinic

Today I finished up my brother and he was a 1B. Then my afternoon patient I was worried about if she was going to show up. I tired calling her so many times last night and no answer. Finally I called her during lunch and she answered and confirmed that she was coming. I told her to come 10 minutes before so she could feel out her health history but she wasn't coming I was going anxious because she didn't seem like she really want to come I thought she was going to stand me up! She finally came and she was a class 3! Boy did she give me a work out and I didn't even finish 1 quad. I scheduled her for next. That was it for today.
